Terms of Service

Welcome to Maitri Kids. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Maitri Kids mobile application (the “App”) and the website at maitrikids.com (the “Site”), together the “Service.” By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you are a parent or guardian, you are accepting these Terms on behalf of yourself and any child who uses the App under your supervision.

1. Who may use the Service

The App is designed for children ages 2 to 5 to be used with adult supervision. A parent or legal guardian must set up and supervise the child’s use of the App. If you are under 18, you may only use the Service with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

2. Content and intellectual property

All stories, illustrations, characters, music, narration, code, and other content in the Service are owned by Maitri Kids or licensed to us, and are protected by copyright and other laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your family’s personal, non-commercial entertainment and education.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from the Service, except as permitted by applicable law.

3. Cultural content

Maitri Kids draws on characters and themes from Hindu mythology. The content is intended as cultural storytelling for children, not as religious instruction. We make a good-faith effort to depict these characters respectfully.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.
• Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its related systems.
• Use the Service to harm, harass, or exploit any person, especially any child.

5. Purchases and subscriptions

The first Maitri Kids story (“Ganesha & the Little Obstacles”) is free. Additional stories may be offered in the future through a subscription (“Maitri Plus”). Any subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store according to their respective terms. We do not process payments directly, and we never ask a child to make a purchase inside a story.

6. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available. Maitri Kids is entertainment and education software; it is not medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Maitri Kids and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (or USD $0 if you paid nothing).

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting the App. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or if we stop offering the Service.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Effective” date above. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Ontario.
